Shortly after 7:30 a.m. on Friday morning, officers from the Metropolitan Police Department were called to the 900 block of Sixth Street SW, where there was a reported stabbing in the area involving Lateasa Hill, 43, and a neighboring family.
According to investigators, upon arrival, they found a woman suffering from multiple stab wounds and lacerations to her body following an argument that turned physical, resulting in Hill allegedly breaking out the weapon.
During the altercation, police said that a 6-year-old boy also suffered a minor cut before Hill fled the scene and was ultimately arrested nearby by officers.
The woman was taken to an area hospital, where she was listed in stable condition on Monday. The boy was treated for a minor laceration and released to a family member.
Hill was arrested without further incident and charged with assault with intent to kill with a sharp object. No information about her next court appearance was released by the department.
